Secular Humanist Officiant
Risa Morris
Welcome to my site.
The focus of my ceremonies is the couple, pure and simple. In my ceremonies, I incorporate meaningful readings, personal stories, and any traditions, or values from your heritage, and from other cultures. All ceremonies are egalitarian and do not include theistic language or worship. They are respectful and inclusive and serve the needs of any couples.
“To the world you are one person, but to one person you are the world”.

Ceremony
It is my goal that each ceremony enables individuals to feel important, valued and connected to family and community, and that it validates and mark the individual’s growth and their meeting of life goals. Each service also complies with the laws of the Province of Ontario.

Suitable for very small groups/informal occasions.
Signing/Legality only:
If you only need me for the legal aspects of your wedding or you just want to get legally married without any hoopla there are a few options that I offer. This may be what you need if you are going on or coming back from a destination wedding or if you want a friend or an out of province clergy member to perform your ceremony.
-
Onsite:
-
I come to the location of your choice and sign with you and your 2 witnesses prior to your ceremony.
-
I come to your location and sign with you and your 2 witnesses during the ceremony
-
-
My Location:
-
-
You and your 2 witnesses come to my location (29 Lorindale Ave.) for a non-formal signing.
-
Rehearsals:
I don’t include rehearsals in the packages above. I have found that the preparations that we do make them unnecessary. However, if you feel it is needed (help directing the large wedding party, people are nervous and it will help, or any other reason) I’m happy to attend. Please make sure that we book the time and date and an additional fee will be applied.
All services are provided by a fully licensed officiant (Risa) and are adherent to the Marriage Act of Ontario. This includes completing your legal paperwork, filing the license with the government and advising on follow-through to obtain legal proof of marriage.
